UTS-wide health and safety audits

UTS: Safety & Wellbeing coordinates external audits of the University's health and safety management system every five years, with the next audit scheduled for 2013.

The criteria for these audits is based on the UTS safety and wellbeing plan:

  • planning
  • responsibility and accountability
  • consultation and communication
  • faculty and unit environment, health and safety plans
  • information
  • training and competency
  • document and records management
  • monitoring
  • evaluation and reporting
  • audits
  • specific health and safety programs
  • health and safety risk management
  • accidents and incidents
  • first aid
  • workers' compensation
  • injury and illness management and support
  • emergency preparedness and response, and
  • crisis management.

Audit scope

These audits are conducted across all:

  • faculties and administrative units, and
  • UTS functions, from teaching and learning, and research to facilities management.
